Oregon’s Vernal Pools

Southern Oregon’s vernal pools/mounded prairies are one of the rarest habitats in the state. The Nature Conservancy protected and managed a patch of them. Because many of the vernal pools on their properties had been severely degraded, The Nature Conservancy developed a remarkable process for restoring them. Working with their field ecologist and the Oregon Department of Transportation (a project partner), I created this StoryMap provide a novel way to show the importance of vernal pools and their work to restore them.
